During a long career in policing, Matt was involved in and managed investigations into serious and complex organised crime, working within structured legal frameworks and rigorous evidential standards. He developed extensive experience in file preparation, case building and attending court, with a clear understanding of the procedural accuracy required in legal proceedings. That experience now informs the careful and methodical approach taken in every instruction accepted by Avident.

Lecturing & Mentoring

Following retirement from policing, Matt continued his commitment to public service within alternative education settings, working with young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system. As a mature student, he obtained a master’s degree and formal teaching qualifications, further strengthening his ability to communicate clearly, manage challenging situations and operate with patience and composure.

As an advanced police interviewer and operational debriefer, Matt developed the ability to listen carefully, assess situations accurately and engage effectively at all levels. In process serving, this skillset often reduces unnecessary confrontation and enables lawful service to be achieved calmly and efficiently.
